Devestating Political Ad

Wow, this is one of the most devestating political ads ever.

Wow, this is one of the most devestating political ads ever.
So instead of just explaining away his moronic remarks, John Kerry went on the attack in a completely bizarre display that can only be explained by Kerry’s desire to run for President in 2008. Let’s look at some of his points:
This was a failed joke at the President, so he doesn’t owe the men and women in the military an apology.
Most on the right seem to discount this explaination (and some in the nutroots will be disappointed), preferring to believe that it is a continuation of leftist hate of the military. But I believe that this could have been Kerry’s original intent, with the following logic:
So Kerry tried to joke (something he should never do) that if you don’t use the educational system, you might end up being President and getting people killed. Not really a good joke — thus I believe that it could have been Kerry’s intent.
But even if this was Kerry’s intent he still owes people a conditional apology — just a simple “Sorry that wasn’t my intent I tried to say ‘<insert joke>’, but it came out wrong.” After that he could continue.
Republican criticism of Kerry’s “joke” is just an attempt to change the subject
Well of course it is — that is why you never say stupid things like that — your opponent will jump on minor misstatements and turn an election. But then Kerry’s foaming attack on the administration is just an attempt to change the subject from his horrendously stupid “joke”.
There is no way that Kerry, a veteran, could possibly mean to insult the troops like that.
Really. So your testimony to Congress on the Vietnam War is just a mass delusion? So you didn’t say that US forces were regularly committing atrocities with the knowledge, approval, and direction of their superiors? Or that the US was ravaging Vietnam just like Genghis Khan? Sorry Kerry, but your willingness to verbally attack soldiers for political gain is too well documented to entirely discount the possibility that you were attacking the troops…for political gain.
The switch to PST was quite a shock last night as I walked home in the freezing cold with the sun long gone. The sunnier walk to work just isn’t worth it. How about we just get rid of standard time and use daylight savings time year round? That means I won’t have to change clocks or suffer through “spring ahead” ever again.
John Kerry again displays his supernatural ability to say the dumbest thing possible:
You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.
Some how I don’t think this is the message Democrats trying to win the US Senate seats from Missouri, Tennessee, and Virginia want to be discussing with a week to go until the election. The playbook that Dems have been using this season consists of three points:
Calling the men an women who have served in Iraq uneducated morons definitely violates item #3. This is just what the RNC, etc need to run a pretty devastating commercial in some key markets, that could secure the Senate and possibly the House. I’d say that makes John Kerry the DUMBASS OF THE MONTH.
Sorry Dr. Jones but your tenure has been denied.
As chairman of the Committee on Promotion and Tenure, I regret to inform you that your recent application for tenure has been denied by a vote of 6 to 1. Following past policies and procedures, proceedings from the committee’s deliberations that were pertinent to our decision have been summarized below according to the assessment criteria.
My friend Lincoln Davis who chairs our campaign says there are, there’s one big difference between us and misfortunate Republicans when it comes to our faith: he said that Republicans fear the Lord; he said Democrats fear AND love the Lord.

The leading critic of electronic voting machines also finds serious flaws with absentee voting. Of note King County uses the Diebold GEMS database that is specifically called out as an inferior system.
So I’m happy to see that Heather wants to vote at a polling place to ensure that her vote is properly counted. Of course Ron Sims and the Democrats on the King County Council want to take away your ability to vote at a polling place and force everyone to vote by mail.
After getting tired with the old free version of Moveable Type, I’ve set up Wordpress MU and migrated the old IZ site. Much better.
Why oh why are our officials so f*****g stupid when it comes to slogans. First the State pays a fortune for the now abandoned “SayWA”, which just brought back nightmares of bad 80’s sitcoms. Now Seattle is paying $500,000, for a new slogan… “Metronatural”. You have got to be kidding me. It sounds like a nudist metrosexual. How fracking lame can you get. Spending money for housing where drunks can drink themselves to death makes more sense than this crap.
